Photographer Interview – Debaditya Das
1) Tell me about yourself
I am a photo-enthusiast and have a great inclination towards wildlife, nature and architectural photography. I am a scientist by training and based in Bangalore, India working in the health care sector. I love to travel and my camera has now become the part and parcel of my luggage whenever and wherever I travel.
I started photography few years back but soon realized my strong passion for this field and have been doing it more actively since 2016.
2) What is your tips for the upcoming photographers in Wildlife or other genre?
Patience is the key particularly in wildlife photography. Sometimes it really takes a long time to get the desired photo but there is not short-cut way. An eye for detail is also important to have a good composition.
3) Tell me more about your Gadgets (Cameras, Lenses and etc.,)
I use Canon 550D DSLR camera with Canon 18-135mm image stabilizer lens for nature and architectural photos whereas for wildlife I prefer to use Tamron 70-300 mm zoom lens. My winning image was a hand-held shot and was captured with the Tamron (70-300mm) lens.
4) What is your future goal in Photography field?
Learning and advancing my photography skills to become a pro-wildlife photographer.
5) How Photo editing involved in your Digital Photography?
I do not prefer in any material alterations in the original image but do use photo editing tools only to enhance the photo. A proper editing can turn an ordinary photo into a more appealing one.
6) Where you learn the photography skills?
I have learnt the basics of photography from my mentor Mr. Saurabh Cahtterjee of SIA Photography during my stay in Hyderabad, India. I have also undergone several online courses and have read several articles on improving the photographic skills.
